New Honda Amaze India launch tomorrow: Design, features, engine, expected price and more

Honda Cars India is all set to launch the new and updated Honda Amaze sedan in the Indian market tomorrow i.e., December 4, 2024. The new Amaze in its third generation will feature a new exterior design with improved dynamics and, new interior with features and added safety. The prices for the new Amaze are expected to begin at 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom) and will continue to compete directly with the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The new Amaze will also go up against the Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura.

In terms of design, the new Amaze seems to have taken inspiration from the Elevate and Honda City. It features a large and upright grille with sleek LED headlights. Below, it features a simple and neat bumper design with projector fog lamps. On the side, it looks similar to the outgoing car and gets newly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels and the wing mirror placement has moved from the pillar to the door. At the rear, the new Amaze looks very similar to the City. The tail lamps, boot lid design, and rear bumpers closely resemble those of the City, maintaining a similar family look.

The new Amaze has been designed at Honda R&D Asia Pacific centre in Thailand. The sub-compact sedan will measure under 4 metres in length and the expected dimensions are 3995 mm in length, 1695 mm in width, 1501 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2470 mm. It will feature 15-inch alloy wheels and a ground clearance of 170 mm. Other exterior highlights will include LED headlights, Z-shaped LED taillights, shark fin antenna, chrome strip above the grille that runs across the bonnet, multi-spoke diamond cut wheels and more.

Moving inside, the overall interior layout will look similar to the Elevate. The sedan features a free-standing infotainment system with a digital cluster. Other expected features include automatic climate control, connected car tech, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, multiple airbags, ABS, EBD and also sensor based ADAS system. The new Amaze will retain the same engine, a 90hp, 1.2-litre, 4-cyl, NA petrol engine with a choice of a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission.
