The highly anticipated KTM 390 Adventure, unveiled at EICMA 2024 in Milan, is now gearing up for its Indian debut at India Bike Week (IBW) 2024 in Vagator, Goa, on December 6. The Austrian manufacturer has shared a glimpse of the ADV tourer in its recent social media brand campaign. Once launched in India, the model will compete against a host of mid-capacity motorcycles, including its primary rival, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
KTM 390 Adventure: What to expect
The model will be based on the trellis frame, same as the new-gen 390 Duke. In terms of design, it will feature vertically stacked LED headlights, a tall windscreen, sharp tank shrouds, a high-mounted beak-like front fender, knuckle guards and more. Other highlights include a single-piece seat, block-pattern tyres, auxiliary lights etc.

The X variant will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, equipped with disc brakes at both ends. In contrast, the off-road-oriented R variant will feature larger 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. It also boasts fully adjustable WP front suspension with 230mm travel, compared to the X variant’s non-adjustable suspension with 200mm travel. Additionally, the R trim is equipped with a TFT instrument cluster and advanced rider aids like traction control and cornering ABS, whereas the X variant comes with a modest LCD display and standard ABS.
KTM 390 Adventure: Engine
At their heart lies a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 44 hp and 39 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a bi-directional quick-shifter. This is the same powerplant that does its duty in the new-gen 390 Duke.
