JSW MG Motor India is gearing up for the launch of its first-ever electric sports car, the MG Cyberster, scheduled for January 2025. This futuristic roadster will debut under the newly launched MG Select retail channel. The company has revealed the first look of the India-spec model, featuring its electric scissor doors, a first for India, which open or close in just five seconds.
Already on sale in European markets like the UK and Italy, the Cyberster brings a design inspired by the iconic 1960s MG B Roadster.
MG Cyberster: What we know so far
The Cyberster boasts a low-slung stance, sleek aerodynamic lines, and a front fascia dominated by swept-back LED headlamps and functional front vents that cool the battery. Talking about the electric scissor doors, these units come with advanced safety features, including Dual Radar sensors to detect obstacles and an anti-pinch bounce-back mechanism to prevent accidents. The rear profile features C-shaped LED tail lights connected by a light bar.

Inside, the Cyberster gets a curved three-screen setup that includes an infotainment display and a touchscreen-equipped center console. The car comes equipped with ADAS tech.
The Cyberster is available in two powertrain configurations. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant is powered by a 64 kWh battery, delivering 335 bhp and 475 Nm of torque, with a WLTP-certified range of 507 km. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version, on the other hand, features a 77 kWh battery, producing 496 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, with a range of 443 km. Both setups offer four modes—Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track.
The Cyberster’s launch kicks off MG Select, a premium retail channel with exclusive centers in 12 cities. Debuting at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo 2025, this will be MG’s bold step into the future of high-performance EVs in India.
