Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India has finally debuted in the growing electric vehicle market in India. The manufacturer has unveiled two new EV models: the much anticipated electric iteration of the Activa, dubbed ‘Activa e’ and the QC1. The models will be available for booking starting January 2025, with deliveries commencing in February 2025. Both models will be manufactured indigenously at Honda’s Narsapura plant in Karnataka.

The Activa e is powered by two 1.5 kWh swappable batteries, providing a total capacity of 3 kWh. With a peak power output of 8 bhp and 22 Nm of torque, it can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in just 7.3 seconds. The model offers three riding modes, namely, Econ, Standard, and Sport. As for range, the company claims a range of 102 km on a single charge.

On the other hand, the QC1 runs on a 1.5 kWh fixed battery, offering a range of 80 km on a full charge. It features a home charging setup that allows a full charge in 6 hours and 50 minutes, with 80% capacity reached in 4 hours and 30 minutes. Powered by a 1.8 kW motor delivering 77 Nm of torque, the QC1 reaches a top speed of 50 kmph.

The suspension duties on the electric Activa are carried out by telescopic forks in the front and a three-step adjustable spring loaded unit at rear. Stopping power comes from 160 mm front disc and a 130 mm drum brake setup.
The QC1 gets front telescopic fork with 5-step adjustable hydraulic for rear. Braking duties are carried out by drum brakes on both wheels.

Speaking of features, the Activa e comes with a 7-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, music controls, navigation, adaptive brightness. Other key highlights include features such as smart key system, battery swapping capabilities which will be initially available at Honda BeX stations in cities like Bengaluru, Delhi and soon, Mumbai. It will be offered in Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black colours.
The QC1, on the other hand, comes with a modest 5.0-inch LCD display, a USB Type-C charging port, and a spacious 26-litre under-seat storage. It gets two riding modes – Standard and Econ. It will be available in five colour options – Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Misty White, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, and Pearl Shallow Blue.
Honda is offering a 3-year/50,000 km warranty, three free services, and complimentary roadside assistance for the first year for both models.
