Kia Syros set for Dec 19 launch.

Kia India is all set to debut its upcoming compact SUV, the Kia Syros. Positioned between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia India’s lineup, the Syros is set to debut in India on December 19, 2024, and will rival popular models including the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon. The Syros marks Kia’s first offering under its 2.0 strategy in India. Here, let’s take a look at what we can expect from this upcoming model.

Kia Syros: Design

The Syros boasts a modern, MPV-like silhouette, as teased in sketches and teasers. Its design highlights include a boxy profile with vertical DRLs reminiscent of the Carnival, flush-fitting door handles, sculpted door panels, chunky roof rails, and distinctive L-shaped LED taillights. Other premium touches include a split headlamp setup, dual-tone alloy wheels, an integrated rear spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and a panoramic sunroof.

Kia Syros: Cabin and features

While the full details remain under wraps, the SUV is expected to offer features like ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, a wireless charger, and an ADAS suite. Borrowing cues from Kia’s larger models like the Carnival and EV9, the Syros’ interiors are likely to focus on comfort and technology.

Kia Syros: Engine and safety

Under the hood, the Syros is expected to share engine options with the Sonet, including a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. In terms of safety, Kia is expected to pack the SUV with advanced tech like a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and a host of connected car features.
